ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
I'm Jimboy B. Cantila — an Industrial Engineering graduate currently working as a Laboratory Assistant at CTU Moalboal. By day I manage lab equipment, support the College of Engineering, and operate the IE Conference Hall. By night (and weekends), I write code.
Programming has always been a passion, not a job title. My journey started in 2013 with Python, and over the years I've explored JavaScript, Rust, and Dart for Flutter — all on the side, all out of genuine curiosity. The projects here are hobbies and experiments, not professional deliverables. But they represent real hours of learning, and that's what they're meant to show.
I also spent nearly a decade teaching at CTU Moalboal — covering everything from CAD and Programmable Logic Controllers to Computer Fundamentals and programming basics. Teaching pushed me to understand things more deeply, and getting to introduce students to Arduino, ESP, and Raspberry Pi was genuinely one of the best parts of the job.
The dream is to eventually make the transition into software development full-time. Until then, I keep building — one side project at a time.
Outside of all that: Rubik's cubes, online chess, and a Mobile Legends habit I keep telling myself I'll cut back on.

Laboratory Assistant | CTU Moalboal
Supporting the College of Engineering through lab equipment management, office operations, and software development. I serve as the primary operator of the IE Conference Hall — running the LED wall, sound system, and lighting for all events, from internal department functions to paid external bookings. I also handle layout design and output for the college's 3D printing service. Beyond the operational work, I've been building internal systems for the institution: an HR monitoring system for tracking employee leave credits, a Guidance System for the guidance office, a BAC System for the Bids and Awards Committee, and a Laboratory Management System for the college.

College Instructor | CTU Moalboal
Taught a wide range of subjects spanning Industrial Engineering and Information Technology — from Operations Research and CAD to Programmable Logic Controllers and hands-on programming courses. Focused on giving students both the theory and the practical skills to apply it, which meant constantly bridging the gap between traditional IE and modern computing.
